- Artistic hand cut. Custom hand-clipped cuts to fit each piece to a pattern, resulting in your one-of-a-kind design. This is ideal for interlocking pieces with fine details and photorealistic compositions.
- Creates clean edges with a handmade feel—an ideal technique for rectilinear pattern pieces.
- Water-jet cutting. Cuts materials with water under extremely high pressure, allowing for small, intricate, and complex profiles.
How Do I Order Custom Tile? What to Expect
Maison Mosaics tile artisans have crafted thousands of custom tile projects for our customers, and can work with any inspiration, surface, style, or color. Because customizing tiles is one of our specialties, we’ve made the process simple:
- Step 1: Design consultation. Having a phone or email conversation with one of our designers starts the process, and ensures that we understand your style and aspects such as colors, patterns, materials, and other details.
- Step 2: Mockup. Using CAD or detailed custom artwork, we provide a rendering for you to review, ensure dimensions and colors are correct, and make any changes.
- Step 3: Material sample. While we’re in the mockup process, Maison will send you complimentary swatch samples of the materials you’ve specified—again, to double-check that the hue, texture & finish are correct.
- Step 4 (optional): Strike off. Upon request, we will manufacture a sample strike-off that exactly replicates your pattern and materials so you can experience the tile under different lighting conditions.
- Step 5: Place your order. With a lead time of just 8 to 10 weeks, your unique custom tile designs, materials, and finishes will be on their way to your home or commercial space for installation—and the realization of your vision! And because Maison is a factory direct fashion house—no middleman or markups—your investment could be half or less compared to other custom options.
